How to update Azbox firmware from FridgeFTA's private FTP
Azbox update firmware is now available on the private FTP. Only firmware which we have tested and approved as stable and improved will be on the private FTP.
Updating is very easy. Start with inserting a USB flash drive in the front USB port. Then go to the private FTP.
1. On the left side, navigate to USB1/SDA1, which will be the main drive of the USB flash drive you just plugged in. This is where you will be transferring the update firmware to.
2. On the right side, highlight the firmware folder and press ok.
3. Folders will appear that contain approved firmware. The higher the number, the newer it is. Highlight the folder you want and press ok.
4. Highlight 'patch.bin' which will be the only file in each folder. Use the CHECK key to select it.
5. Hit the GUIDE key on the remote to start the transfer.
6. When the transfer is complete, hit the power button on the remote, select 'Reboot' and hit ok.
7. The Azbox will reboot and bring up the upgrade menu. Hit OK to upgrade by USB.
8. When this screen comes up, verify that the upgrade file is newer than what you have and press OK. The Azbox will do the rest, takes several minutes. It will automatically reboot.
9. If the USB is still inserted the upgrade screen comes back up. Arrow down to #5, boot without update, and your Azbox will load normally. You can delete patch.bin from the usb drive or rename it to anything but patch.bin to prevent the upgrade screen from coming up on boot if you wish to leave the USB drive plugged in.
If you don't want to wait for us to test and approve new firmware you can always get it from http://fw.azupd.com/ Rename what you download from there 'patch.bin', put on your USB drive, reboot your AZ and follow steps 7-9.
